Explained in this mission is the Capture command and how it works, which is the main focal point of this mission.

Base Capture is the third mission of Advance Wars' Field Training Mode. This mission is a bit longer than the first two, but features eight units on the opposing side compared to six Units on your side.

The mission is to storm the Spire Hills, which will force Blue Moon forces to retreat from the region. To respond to the previous mission, two Mech Units are now at your disposal.

The last feature introduced here is the concept of Capturing an opponent's HQ. If your HQ gets captured you lose, but you win if you Capture your opponent's HQ.

[edit] Strategy

This Tutorial mission introduces the mechanics behind Capturing Bases and the War Funds they produce. You'll be guided by Nell for the first two turns, then will be given free reign to make your own decisions after that. Taking the five Cities on your side of the Mountain Range shouldn't be a problem; once that's done wait for opposing Infantry and Mech forces to attack your positions.

Counter-Attack and defeat them, but remain on the Cities that you've captured to restore 2HP on the next day. Once their Infantry are defeated send Infantry to the south around the Mountain Range to capture the enemy HQ, which is by far the easiest way to win this battle.

Tanks can't cross Mountains, so by doing this you won't have to worry about them.

An A Rank is the highest rank that can be attained during Field Training missions.
